RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – National Security Adviser (NSA) of Afghanistan Hamdullah Mohib on Wednesday called on Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to discuss prospects for peace in the region, with a particular emphasis on the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.

During the meeting at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, matters related to mutual interest, peace and stability in the region and Pak-Afghan border management were also discussed, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Military s media wing in another statement said a Pakistani woman was injured in unprovoked Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday.

Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Rawalakot sector across the LoC, the ISPR said. The cross-border firing targeted civilian population in the vicinity, ISPR added.

The injured woman was identified as Safina BiBi, a resident of Mandhar village, the statement read further. She was evacuated to a nearby medical facility for necessary treatment.
